Music on purpose provides intense individual music therapy sessions and also interventions for groups of individuals having similar assessed needs. We aim to find the music therapy format that best suits the individual’s needs. This may mean that family, friends, carers and staff to become also become involved in music therapy sessions in a way that is helpful to everyone.

The format of music therapy sessions can include:

  • playing and making up music on a wide range of percussion instruments

  • singing both improvised songs and/or familiar songs

  • creating songs/rap music

  • listening to music

  • dancing or moving to music

  • performing and rehearsing music

  • writing stories in music


We provide clear aims and objectives and measure the outcomes of every intervention using a evaluation framework.
